Easy Knitting Patterns – Simple Knits For All Knitters

This fun and easy knitting patterns page is a great place for beginner knitters to start practicing their newly acquired skills.  These patterns for knitting beginners will help build your confidence plus you’ll get to knit something that you can use as well.

After all it’s much more fun learning how to knit if you’re actually knitting and making something.

But then again…if you have been knitting forever like me this is a great place to find very simple knitting projects.  You know the ones; the ones you go to after knitting a very long and complicated knitting project.  It always feels great to knit something up quickly and easily after spending so many hours on the last project.

These easy knits could also make great gifts.  Before you go out and buy a gift try knitting a gift instead. I’m sure they’d love it.  Knitted gifts are always special.

And remember it’s also a great way to save money. Sometimes you may want to give a small gift to someone and this is a great way to do it. Something that is handmade is always special.

So pick up those needles, grab some great yarn that feels as soft as butter and get started with one of these easy patterns.

Easy Knitting Patterns

All of these are pretty basic knitting patterns however there are a couple that require an additional skill like the keyhole scarf for instance, you will need to place some stitches on a stitch holder and a couple of other knitting patterns have some simple shaping that requires you to knit two stitches together (K2og) but remember they are all basic knitting techniques you’ll need to learn.

And besides, it’s all great knitting practice.

    1. Hello Tanya Michelle

Thank you for your interest in my knitting patterns. I’ve made it very simple for every knitter wanting to have a copy of my patterns. Each page has the pattern written out for them as well as a PDF they can download. Happy Knitting!

    1. Hi Nick. No it’s absolutely not wrong. I can’t even imagine that. There are thousands and thousands of men who knit Nick so wipe out any of those negative thoughts about it, pick up some knitting needles and some yarns that you absolutely love and come and join me. You’ll love all the wonderful designs you can create. I found this great video about a man who knits, Kaffe Fassett on Knitting. He is an artist known for his colorful designs in arts – needlepoint, knitting, patchwork, painting and ceramics. After you see some of his beautiful knitting designs it might help get rid of any negative thoughts you’ve had about knitting and get you to pick up those needles. Then you can have a look at this inspiring video as well about The Man Who Knits. If you really want to knit Nick I encourage you to just go for it. And welcome to the knitting world!

    2. My husband knit his own 13ft Doctor Who Scarf and he gets so many compliments for it. He doesn’t give a hoot about what others think when he tells them proudly that he knit it himself, and I don’t think you should let others opinions of you affect your happiness.

  1. Hello there. I want to thank you for your help. I had a brain freeze and could not remember the difference between Cast on and Cast off. (working on slippers) . I thought they were the same. So, Thank you for confirming. I do have another question Still making slippers. pattern reads To shape toe; for a Todd;er; K 23, Ktog,sl1, Kl, psso. Sl1, yf. Turn. Question #1. (yf I think is yarn forward) So do you wrap the yarn towards you or away from you?
    #2. second row ; K2tog. K5, Sl1, K1, psso. Sl1 P, Turn. ( which stitch do I purl?
#3. down to 6th row; P2togtbl, (I think P2tog through back loop. I am not sure how to do this ) I do it differently each time. I have made one slipper and now working on the mate/ to the set and I am getting so confused. I am 76yrs. that is my problem and have been more or less self taught. The yarn shop I went to for help has now retired.
So any help you can give me would be sooo helpful. Thanking you ahead of time. ♥☺ God Bless you.. Paddye ,Nov 15, 2017

    1. Hello Paddye. You’re welcome and I’m so glad to help. Paddye I’d really like to encourage you to join my free knitting forum. You see I don’t normally answer knitting questions here on my site. The reason is, your questions could also help others plus there is much more room for me to give you the proper explanations. Just this one time I’ve written out the answers to your questions below. Oh and by the way, I think it’s great that you taught yourself to knit. It sounds like you’re doing a great job.

#1: yf means to bring yarn to front of work like you’re going to purl

#2: Sl1 P means to slip one purlwise. You don’t purl any stitch. So to slip this stitch take your right needle and put it into the next st like you’re going to purl it

#3: Here is a link to a knitting video showing how to P2tog tbl (purl 2 together through back loop):

Hope this helps Paddye and I really hope to see you in my knitting forum. Happy Knitting!
